There is a magnificent Park in the town centre
and many historic buildings still in use today. Other places of interest are
the RAAF base, UWS - Hawkesbury, the Polo Fields, and Hawkesbury racecourse.
In 1823, Archibald Bell, son of Lieutenant Bell of Belmont, discovered a practicable
route along the ridge that led, eventually, past Mt. Tomah and onto Lithgow.
This is Bell's Line of Road, as we know it to day.
As you travel towards the Hills you pass through towns each having their own
specialties. Kurmond, the name is derived from Kur (Kurrajong) & mond (Richmond).
